What are the 4 types of astronomy?

Astrometry: Astrometry involves the accurate measurement of the position, motion, and distance of celestial bodies. Astronomers analyze data collected through observations to determine the exact positions and movements of stars, planets, asteroids and other objects in the sky. This information is critical for studying the dynamics of the solar system and the Milky Way, as well as for navigation and space missions.

Astrophysics: Astrophysics focuses on the application of physical principles and methods to study the physical properties, behavior and interactions of celestial bodies. Astrophysicists study phenomena such as the evolution of stars, the formation and dynamics of galaxies, the properties of dark matter and dark energy, cosmic rays, black holes, and the origin of the universe. They use theoretical models, observational data and computational simulations to investigate these aspects of the universe.

It is important to note that these categories are not mutually exclusive and there is often considerable overlap and collaboration between different branches of astronomy. The field continues to grow and diversify as new discoveries are made and new technologies emerge.
